A little about us...
Paul D'Alessio, a graduate of the University of Arizona landscape architecture program, founded Kalamazoo Materials, Incorporated in 1984. While searching for saguaro cactus as part of a landscape improvement project, Paul discovered an abundant supply of high quality decomposed granite above the Kalamazoo ore body in San Manuel, Arizona, thus giving Kalamazoo Materials, Inc. its name.
Over the past 25 years, Kalamazoo has grown from one quarry to twelve, from a hundred trucks of delivered rock per month to nearly 5000! In that time, we have quarried and sold nearly 10 billion pounds of landscape decorative rock. As we have grown, we have never wavered from Paul D'Alessio's vision of providing quality landscape decorative rock products, with superior customer service, at a fair price.
